The Challenge
hoyos architekten is invited to an ideas competition for a new building in the traditional area of Munich’s “Ludwigsvorstadt” in the place of a former construction with different uses during the last decades.
The solution
A clear and precise presence of the proposed construction follows the tradition of European urban architecture of the last century, which has characterised the appearance of the cities. Alternating openings and a sensation of depth evoke an elegant and urban architecture of Mozartstrasse 4. Large glass formats on the ground floor, uniformly arranged window openings in the higher levels and scaled façades on the top floors are our proposed characteristics. The floor plans offer horizontal and vertical flexibility, being able to adapt the amenities to the needs and wishes of future occupiers.
Sustainability solutions can be found in the concept’s issues of ecology, economy and socioculture. There is an integrating interaction of technical and design systems, which lead to individual solutions guaranteeing sustainable visions for the future. We aim to minimize energy losses, regain energy, make use of regenerative or CO2-neutral energy concepts and implement highly efficient energy transportation within the building.
